RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW: A CENTENARY CELEBRATION
RHS Chelsea Flower Show: A Chelsea Centenary is the ultimate show souvenir, an enduring look at what makes the show so special. It explores how it has evolved since 1914, how it now forms part of the annual social calendar and how it has reflected and shaped tastes in garden design and planting over the last 100 years.
Outstanding personalities are highlighted as well as outstanding gardens. Short pieces by significant nurserymen and women, designers, organisers, visitors and patrons describe what Chelsea means to them.
Arranged chronologically, the book includes chapters on the early shows, shows between the wars and decade by decade to the present day.
The illustrations are largely drawn from the extensive RHS archive and include photographs, plans, posters and other ephemera.
